Captain Schyler Reilly, would increase their lead as Colin Pierce circled in the corner and fed a nice pass to Reilly in the slot. Springfield would cut the lead to 3-2 heading into the final period.
In the third, great forechecking by Colin Pierce would lead to an insurance goal as he stole the puck from the Pride's defenseman by the net and popped the puck top corner for a 4-2 Owls lead. With time counting down, Tyler Reopel would skate the puck through the neutral zone for his first goal of the season to seal the victory for the Owls. Nate Maillet was strong in net as he improves his record to 2-0-0.
