Owls Conclude Season Against Boston University

Boston, MA --- Even though the game meant nothing, It was not exactly how the Owls wanted to end the game or their season. With 1:52 remaining in the third, tempers started to flare and the score board would read 6-1. The Owls gained the early when Schlyer Reilly chased down a loose puck at center ice and converted on a two on none breakaway only 4 minutes into the game. However, that would be the only goal of the night for Westfield and Boston University would go on to score 6 unanswered goals.

The players and coaching staff would like to thank everyone for their continued support throughout the season. We hope to build on the accomplishments that the team achieved this past season and we look forward to the 2013-2014 season.

Owls Drop First Half of Home and Home

Shelton, CT -- After being delayed for over an hour because there were no referees, The Westfield State Owls came out flat in a big divisional game against Sacred Heart. Westfield took five penalties in the first period and were caught in their zone for most of the period. With just under five minutes to go in the period, the Owls killed off a huge 5 on 3 for a full two minutes. Ryan DiMare played excellent in net and was one of the reason why Westfield only trailed by a goal going into the first intermission.

The Owls would even the score when Nick Rose circled around the left wing circle and fired a back hand shot into the net only 1:19 in the second stanza. However, that's the only offense the Owls would generate and Sacred Heart would go on to score three unanswered goals. It was still a 2-1 game with five minutes remaining but with goals at 15:27 and 18:50 the Owls would receive their first loss in seven games.

The Owls host Sacred Heart on Saturday afternoon on Senior Night! It is another important game with playoff spots on the line. You can follow the game on twitter by following @wsuclub.
