Westfield, MA --- Westfield State got on the board early as they capitalized on their first power play opportunity at 16:14 of the first period. Bobby Rash found Nick Rose who slipped the puck past Norwich netminder Stefan Wuorinen to make it 1-0. Norwich would get its own power play goal 59 seconds later to tie the game at 1. Westfield would finish 4 for 6 on the penalty kill. Westfield would regain the lead midway through the first period when Greg Rice broke in on a break away and beat the goaltender on the backhand. Koryd Lavimoniere would get the game winning goal at 8:18 of the first period when Brett Salamon found him all alone in the slot and one timed the shot into the back of the net. Bobby Rash and Pete Richardson would add goals to make it 5-1 after 1 period of play.
Westfield would add 6 goals in the second period to take a commanding 11-1 lead heading into the final period. Goals were scored by Ryan Mumford, Bobby Rash, Pete Richardson, Nick Rose, Brett Salamon, and Sean Hayward.
