Owls Face Blue Devils Saturday

Westfield, MA -- Westfield State will try to rebound from a 5-1 loss last Friday night as they travel down to Connecticut to face Central Connecticut State University on Saturday at 9:00 pm. The two teams met last year for the first time with the Blue Devils edging out the Owls 2-1 in overtime. Central CT comes into this season ranked 7th in the Northeast and are 1-0-0 this season after beating UMaine. Check @wsuclub for game updates.

From I-84 East/I-84 West: I-84 to exit 39A to Rt-9S. Follow Rt-9S to exit 29 (Newington). Turn left at the bottom of the hill to the next traffic light (Fenn Rd). Turn right on Fenn Rd. and follow it to the end. Turn left on Cedar St. Turn left on Alumni Road. Follow Alumni to the stop sign and turn right.

Owls Drop Season Opener 5-1


Troy, NY -  The Owls kicked off the 2015-16 season on Friday night with a 5-1 loss to the 10th ranked Engineers. Westfield controlled play in the first half of the period out shooting their opponents 10-9. However, RPI's senior captain Adam Hennick would score the lone goal in the opening stanza. Sloppy play by the Owls in the second led to 4 goals against as RPI would take a 5-0 lead heading into the final period. With 16:46 remaining in the game, John Galvin would break Liam McBain's shut out. 

Westfield will travel to Newington, CT on Saturday to face 7th ranked Central Connecticut. It will be another tough non-league opponent before opening up their conference schedule October 10th versus UConn. Game time is set for 9pm with twitter updates available on @wsuclub .

Owls Prepare for Engineers



WESTFIELD, MA -- The Owls will open their season on Friday night in Troy, NY against the RPI Engineers. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 pm. @wsuclub will provide game updates and RPI will be hosting live streaming of the game on rpitv.org

From Route 7 East, make a right turn on to 15th Street. Follow 15th Street about 1/2 mile to campus. Once on campus, turn right onto People's Avenue. Houston Field House is located at the top of People's Avenue.

2015-2016 Roster

Westfield, MA -- The Westfield State University club hockey team released their 2015-2016 roster on Sunday. The team will be led by eleven seniors as they look to return to Nashua, NH for the first time in three years. Eight players will be making their college debut in the ACHA for the Owls this season. Schyler Reilly, who was named captain during the summer, will be helped by Chase Thornton, Cole Connolly and Connor Sweeney as assistant captains. 
Westfield starts the season this Friday as they travel to Troy, NY to face the RPI Engineers. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 pm. Fans can follow the game on the team's twitter account @wsuclub and can live stream the game http://www.rpitv.org/

The Westfield State University (ACHA) club hockey team will hold their mandatory interest meeting on Thursday, September 3rd at 7:00 pm. The meeting will be held in the Wilson Auditorium. All interested players should bring a pen..

The team will hold three on-ice tryouts hosted at Amelia Park Arena. Tryouts will be held on Thursday, September 10th at 10 pm, Tuesday, September 15th at 10 pm and Thursday, September 17th at 10 pm. Players should arrive at the rink by 8:30 with a jersey with a number on the back. Players who need a ride to the rink should contact Coach Lachance by email at mmjl87@gmail.com to help set up a car pool with other students. Final roster should be made after the third tryout on the 17th.
