Before the game, the colors were presented by the VFW State Honor Guard and Col. James Keefe dropped the ceremonial puck drop. Col. Keefe was joined by Harrison, Glenn's son.
Norwich University would score a power play goal with 3:46 remaining in the first period. The two teams battled back and forth during the second period but neither team was able to score a goal. In the third, the intensity and the checking started to pick up with a few big hits. Norwich would add an insurance goal with 3:21 in the game to get the 2-0 victory. Chase Thornton was strong in net making several big saves in the third to keep the Owls within striking distance.
